Change Challenge

For eight weeks, Scentsy employees and Consultants raised money for Wednesday’s Child, a Boise charity that features a child or siblings in need of an adoptive family every Wednesday on KTVB News Channel 7.

Scentsy employees were encouraged to donate $3 of their spare change every Wednesday to reach the Scentsy's goal of $10,000. During our Intensity Convention 2010, Consultants were also encouraged to donate to Wednesday’s Child. Scentsy’s total donation reached $16,000.

In an effort to make Change Challenge fun and creative, employees were divided into five teams to compete against each other. Paper money and silver coins counted toward each team’s total, while pennies counted against the total. Each team’s objective was to raise as much money in bills and silver coins and to strategically dump pennies in their competitor’s containers who may be leading at the time. The winning team received free admission to Roaring Springs Water Park and the chance to spend time with Wednesday’s Child participants who joined us for this event.

On Sept. 16, 2010 Scentsy CEO, Orville Thompson, presented a $16,000 check to Marti Wiser the founder of SNAPS, Inc., the charitable non-profit that houses the Idaho Wednesday's Child program. Wiser received the donation along with Dee Sarton, News Channel 7 television producer and reporter of the popular Wednesday's Child adoption promotion segments.
